Ullswater

Just a nice view from the island.

Ullswater (again)

And just another.. Uh.. Nice view from the island. Perhaps I'm a little overzealous with the nice views... Actually, you should see the number of pictures I didn't put up here!

Ready For Dinner

Good job I got that photo above when I did, because shortly afterwards James decided he'd found the appropriate implement to eat his dinner with.

Aira Force

We were just down the valley from this nice little waterfall, which we visited on the afternoon of the second day. The walk up to it was surprisingly tiring, but it's well worth it as the falls are pretty impressive. Apologies for the somewhat blurry shots - I didn't realise the light was so low, and I wasn't holding the camera very steady!

Aira Force From Above

This was taken from the bridge crossing the falls at the top. I really wouldn't liked to have been the ones to build that bridge - especially since it looks fairly old...

Gill, James And Pounding Water

That could almost be a caption on- Let's not go there.

Everyone On A Bridge

This was the easy one...

Everyone On Another Bridge

... But for this we all had to tramp up to the top (which wasn't really very far, to be honest). Geoff is missing since he took the shot - see what I mean about building the bridge, though?

The Possey

Having a well-earned rest after tramping up all those steps. Then the rain started falling - amazing how that can inject some life into people, isn't it?

Rain On Distant Fells

Yuck. Good job most of the holiday wasn't like this!
