Dad's 60th Birthday
For my Dad's 60th birthday my parents threw a party at their house. Quite a lot of the family came, quite a number of which I didn't manage to get any shots of unfortunately. This rather random selection of shots shows some scenes, however, including some by the master photographer Alex (my nephew) himself!
The problem with hosting any event, of course, is how to entertain
the early arrivals. Fortunately my mum, being the consumate hostess,
had it all sorted. Here we can see her realising Cath and Steve are
looking a little bored... (View enlarged version for captions)
... So she bursts into song to liven the mood - the looks of
sheer awe on Cath and Steve's faces say it all.
Irrespective of any birthday thing that might have been going on
in the background, the real centres of attention most of the time
were, of course, the children. Here we can see Cath (my sister)
and Abigail (my neice), who's looking a little stunned by it all -
understandable really!
The two youngest members of the congregation seemed far more
casual about greeting each other than their respective mums...
I notice that Emily's looking a little thoughtful in this
picture - maybe Dave's just told a joke and she's trying
to figure out why he's finding it funny...
Abigail looks comfy in this shot :)
Another shot of the youngsters - I'm not a sucker for pictures
of children! I'm not!!
There's certainly a non-trivial amount of concentration
going into this transfer - I should hope so too!
Dad and Abigail, deep in conversation - maybe Dad was
trying to persuade Abbie to have a quick game of Bridge...
Unfortunately for Dad, looks like Abbie's finding his
hand far too interesting to be distracted.
