Photo ArchiveThe name says it all really, but I felt I'd add some completely redundant introductory text, lest you think I could be replaced by a Perl script (if you've no idea what one of those is, you really don't want to know). It's really just an.. Uh.. Archive of my.. Uhmm.. Photos. Quite. It's simple enough that a gnat would have considerable difficulty being unable to browse it, but just in case your brain's off in the Bahamas for its biannual leave (or it's before 2pm, which has roughly the same effect for us sane human beings) here's how it works. I've grouped the photos by event - where there's no particular event, they're grouped by location. In the latter case they should be listed in (approximate) chronological order. If necessary, I've also limited the number of photos per page, to try and keep download time sensible. In these cases there's some fairly obvious index bars at the top and bottom of each page to let you browse the full collection. Oh and it's the usual drill - to get a full-sized image from the thumbnail, click on it. And finally, there's a list of quick links to the various sections in the bar on the left of each page. A final note to anyone depicted herein - if you dislike any of the photos, drop me a mail or whatever and I'll take them down. I've tried to filter off the ones people would find embarassing (unless they're funny of course), but I might have a looser definition of the term than some people. Oh and I suspect it'll probably never become an issue for any reason, but don't reproduce any of these without both my permission and the permission of anyone depicted within them - I don't have the faintest idea how the law stands, but it's common courtesy nonetheless. Enjoy!
Cambridge Index
A motley crew of random pictures. There's a couple of Jesus
Lock in Cambridge a little after the flooding we endured, but
unfortunately I missed most of the good opportunities (have a
look at the
Cambridge 2000 flood pictures page for a better collection).
There's also a few from a random visit to Felixstowe by me, Geoff,
Rich and Jenny, plus a couple from when Abbie popped up here. Another random selection from the summer of 2001 (as if you couldn't guess), which seem to mainly be from various barbeques we had. The basic problem with your barbeques, however, is they're usually in the evening, and your basic problem with the sun, right, is that it goes down in the evening - and the basic problem with your exposure times, right... In short - apologies for the blurry pics. Nuff said.
Events Index
Since 60th birthdays don't come along every day (at least I assume
so - if I've had any, I certainly didn't notice), my mum
organised a party for Dad's 60th. Quite a bit of the family came
down, and the temptation to have food was so high I had to delegate
photographic responsabilities to my nephew Alex (age 3 at the time)
at one point.
In mid-summer 2001, I got together with a load of mates from uni and
we all tramped up to the Lake District for a week. It was great fun
(if a little tiring at times) and I don't think I've quite recovered
from the embarassment of expecting everyone to guess "piglet" from
"curly". Well it almost made sense at the time... If that last
bit means nothing more to you than that I should be locked away
in an asylum, just ignore it. It makes sense really. No, honest!
For our annual Easter hiking trip in 2002 we decided to go to Edale in the Peak District. It was only a long weekend, but it was excellent fun, and the weather stayed clear which made it even better!
Miscellaneous Index
Any random shots I happen to have taken whilst on work trips or just
around in the office. I really should bring my camera to work more
often...
These are just a collection of random shots I took because they
"looked nice" - you, of course, may not agree! I'm a bit random
whether I stick stuff in here or in the
Cambridge section above (since that's where
most of them have been taken), but basically it goes in here if
it doesn't matter where it is or what was going on at the time. Proof, if proof were needed, that no classification scheme covers everything. This section is for stuff that's really truly random (and often quite pointless). Most people probably won't be all that interested, because it tends to be me playing around with the camera or (what I feel to be) artistic shots.
