Trips & Events — 2015

3 April — Off to Bassett

Early in the year Michelle and I decided to take Jackie and Aurora for a visit to see my parents on Good Friday.

11 April — Strolling Through The Glen

One place that Jackie had always wanted to visit was Sherwood Forest, so on a sunny April morning we hopped in the car and drove up there.

9-11 May — Westonbirt

Michelle headed off for a long weekend with some of her knitting friends so Aurora and I decided to spend a few days with Grandma and Grandpa. While there, we spent a day strolling around the leafy avenues of Westonbirt Arboretum.

23-29 May — Keswick

On a bright May afternoon, Michelle, Aurora, Jackie and I set off northward to spend a week in Keswick in the northern Lake District. I’ve always loved the Lakes and Keswick is an area of which I could never tire.

6 June — Makka Pakka Washes Faces

Our second trip to see In The Night Garden… Live! was a great success and Aurora had a great time.

19-25 June — Cairngorms

Michelle, Aurora, Jackie and I headed up to the Scottish Highlands for a week. We spent most of the week walking around old castles, which was perfect for me, but we also managed to take in a tour of Loch Ness by boat.

24-30 July — Hardwick & Edinburgh

In July Michelle, Aurora and I set off for a rather piecemeal trip — the first stop was Hardwick Hall, one of a pair of Tudor stately homes in Derbyshire; from there we headed up to Edinburgh to spend the rest of our trip.
